Hindustan Copper informed the bourses on Thursday that it has inaugurated Banwas Mine located at Khetri Copper Complex, Rajasthan after completion of mine construction.

The production capacity of the mine is 6 lakh tonne per annum of copper ore. The production is likely to start this financial year.

Meanwhile, Hindustan Copper is trading flat at Rs 63.15 per share at 14:23 hours IST on BSE. It touched a high of Rs 63.85 and a low of Rs 63 so far during the day.

The stock has delivered around 1% return over a year’s period. It has underperformed BSE mid-cap and BSE Metal index over the same time.

Hindustan Copper Limited is engaged in exploration, exploitation, mining of copper and copper ore, including beneficiation of minerals, smelting and refining.
