At the Wednesday GMR Airport said that the new international airport of Kastel on Crete Island, Greece has been selected to develop, operate and manage. The company is a subsidiary of GMR infrastructure. The firm has bagged the project in partnership with Greek infrastructure major TERNA S.A.

“GMR Airport will be the designated airport operator in the consortium for this project”, the company said in the statement. Further added the concession period for the Greenfield project will be 35 years, including phase one construction of five years.
