Reserve Bank has allowed foreign investors to increase their investment in Natco Pharma to 49% from existing 31.50%.

The Reserve Bank of Indian in a notification said that the foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/ foreign portfolios investors (FPIs) can now invest from 31.50% to 49% of the paid-up capital of Natco Pharma Limited under the Portfolio Investment Scheme.

The RBI monitors the maximum limits on FII/NRI/PIO investments in Indian companies on a daily basis and has fixed the cut-off points two percentage points lower than the actual ceiling.

The stock of Natco Pharma rose nearly 3% in Tuesday’s trading session hitting an intraday high of Rs 968 per share on the NSE. The stock has delivered 113% in a period of one year and has outperformed the BSE Midcap and BSE Healthcare indices over the same time span.
