The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) may raise funds up to Rs 10,000 crore in FY18 to assist the central government’s rural housing for all programme- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana reported a leading news agency.

The funds are expected to be raised in debt markets by issuing debt instruments and NABARD is said to be in talks with the ministry of rural development, informed a market insider.
The housing scheme for all – Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched in July 2015 and aims to provide housing for all by 2022.

NABARD is a lending institution primarily engaged in financing agriculture development. The lender will be raising almost Rs 32,000 crore this year.

As of now, NABARD does not fund for fresh construction and funds only the reconstruction of houses.
