The telecom newcomer, Reliance Jio has filed a complaint against Airtel’s claims that it is ‘Officially the fastest’ network in India, with ASCI (Advertising Standards Council of India).

The telecom company said that Airtel’s claim of being the fastest network in India is misleading, false and incorrect.

Airtel is using Ookla, a web based network and diagnostic applications, and the methodology adopted to determine internet speed has several flaws, according to Jio. It has also issued a legal notice to Ookla.

As in the complaint, Reliance Jio focused on the word used in the advertisement ‘Officially The Fastest Network’, and also added that Ookla does not have any credential from the government of India, being basically a commercial firm which gives awards for money.
