BSE Oil & Gas index is gaining ground in post lunch hours of Thursday’s trading session. Major stocks in the index are buzzing on bourses. Oil India is up by 1.6%, IGL is up by 1.40% and Gail is up by 1.14%.

While BPCL is contributing around 80% to the index gains, pushing the index to higher levels. Whereas, Castrol India and ONGC are the only stocks trading in red, down by 0.26% and 0.03%, respectively. Among all the index constituents there are 8 advances and 2 declines.

Oil India Ltd is currently trading at Rs 341.5, up by Rs 4.55 or 1.35% from its previous closing of Rs 336.95 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 337.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs 342.5 and Rs 335.65 respectively. So far 861806(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 27007.03 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 367.43 on 11-Jan-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs 225.38 on 01-Mar-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 351.1 and Rs 332.55 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.64 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.77 % and 15.59 % respectively. The stock is currently trading above its 50 DMA.
