Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, has reported 12% decrease in its total sales to 10,731 units in December 2016 as compared to 12,154 units sold in the same period of last year.

The company has experienced 9% decline in its sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) to 8,782 units in December 2016 as compared to 9,703 units in December 2015. Its Light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment dropped by 20% growth in sales to 1,949 units in Decmber 2016 as compared to 2,451 units in December 2015.

Ashok Leyland Ltd is currently trading at Rs 80.45, up by Rs 0.35 or 0.44% from its previous closing of Rs 80.1 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 80.4 and has touched a high and low of Rs 81.45 and Rs 79.2 respectively. So far 7459385(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 22795.47 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 112.8 on 13-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs 73.6 on 22-Nov-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 80.8 and Rs 75.1 respectively. The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.38 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.7 % and 30.92 % respectively. The stock is currently trading below its 200 DMA.
